warm reddish shimmering copper
More than just a coin metal
Especially in oriental countries, such as India and Iran, but also still in some Danube countries, the processing of copper in everyday life has been preserved to this day.
Copper as an excellent jewelry metal
Copper is an ideal material for many types of processing, especially for jewelry making. If pieces of jewelry are gilded or silver-plated, copper is very often the base material.
Copper plate gifts
Whether it’s a baby shoe for a birth, a golf ball for a handicap achieved, or a copper-plated rose for a loved one. Copper-plated gifts are something very special and made for eternity.
Copper plating blackened or patinated
Blackening or patinating copper can be used specifically as a stylistic device, for example to give the piece of jewelry an antique look or to give a pattern more visual depth.
The galvanic copper plating
Galvanic copper plating not only increases protection against corrosion, but also improves electrical conductivity.
The reddish color tone in copper plating is very interesting for the decorative area. It is also easy to polish after copper plating.
The process of copper plating
For galvanic copper plating, a solution of cuprous oxide in potassium cyanide is used, or for cast iron, steel, and bar iron, a solution of copper vitriol, Seignette salt, and caustic soda.
Iron rusts easily under a layer of copper and is therefore preventively leaded before copper plating, converted into steel on the surface by case hardening, or painted with varnish or oil paint in order to then be made conductive with graphite powder.
For the reference:
Copper has excellent corrosion resistance and is 100 percent recyclable without loss of quality.
For femininity:
In alchemy, copper was associated with Venus and femininity ♀.
For the color:
Without copper, humans would be colorless beings, because as a trace element it contributes to the formation of the pigment melanin in the body, which gives color to the skin and hair.
