Silver-white high gloss
One of the noblest and most exclusive metals in the world
Rhodium was discovered in 1803 in a raw platinum ore from South America. The name rhodium was chosen after the Greek ancient Greek ῥόδεος rhódeos, in German “rose-colored”, because many rhodium compounds show this color tone.
A protective coat of rhodium
A rhodium-plated coating is very hard and chemically stable. That is why rhodium is often used as a coating for jewelry, glasses frames or watches. It prevents the base metal used from tarnishing. This is especially crucial for jewelry made of silver or white gold.
Rhodium-plated mirrors
A surface coated with rhodium has a high reflectivity and is therefore perfectly suited as a high-quality mirror. These are still used in dentistry today.
Enhance brilliance through rhodium plating
Rhodium plating makes particular sense for diamond rings, as it additionally enhances the brilliance of the diamond. In addition, the shine and durability of metals such as silver and white gold are improved, giving them a smooth, shiny surface.
The galvanic rhodium plating
We mainly rhodium-plate jewelry to make it corrosion-resistant. Galvanic rhodium plating prevents your high-quality ornaments, such as rings, earrings and studs, necklaces and bracelets or pendants, from tarnishing.
Oxidation or corrosion can change the color of some jewelry metals, such as silver, and make them unsightly. This is prevented with a layer of rhodium.
Have items rhodium-plated galvanically
With the help of the galvanic process, rhodium is applied to your piece of jewelry. Before your jewelry can be coated, it undergoes a thorough cleaning. Because if there is still dirt on the piece of jewelry, the rhodium-plated coating will not hold.
The rhodium is liquefied to form an electrolyte. In this bath with the electrolytic liquid, a negative pole and a positive pole are immersed. The negative pole is the object that is to receive the coating.
This enables an evenly rhodium-plated coating and thus a brilliant result.
For the brilliant performance:
Galvanic rhodium plating increases and highlights properties such as scratch resistance, gloss and light reflection of precious metals.
For the extravagance:
Rhodium can be 10 to 25 times more expensive than gold and is a very rare and precious element. Rhodium is highly reflective, does not oxidize and is corrosion resistant. It is more resistant than gold and has a long service life.
For the flawlessness:
Thanks to the protection of galvanic rhodium plating, constant cleaning and polishing become unnecessary, as oxidation, as with silver, is excluded.
